Massage Therapy

There are a wide variety of massage approaches and techniques. Below is a brief description of some of them. Your massage may be most effective when some of these techniques are combined as needed.

Massage room is located in the pool area and 2 new massage rooms in the Playhouse.

* Please provide 2 hours notice for massage appointments.
* Arrive on time. Arriving late will decrease treatment time.
* All massage therapists at the ranch are licensed by New York State.

Swedish (Most popular) - Uses long, flowing strokes, kneading and friction on muscles. Used for a full body session, it promotes general relaxation, relieves muscle tension, and improves circulation and range of motion.

Deep Muscle Massage - A slow deep pressure designed to relieve chronic muscle tension. it is typically used only for specific areas.

Acupressure - Oriental based massage of finger pressure along "meridians" (lines) of energy flow in the body.

Stretching - Feels good, helps muscles to be more flexible by reducing muscle tension, and is used in combination with other techniques.

Reflexology - Finger pressure on points of the feet and hands is used to revitalize the body's organ systems. these points correspond or "reflex" to areas of the body.

Polarity - uses the body's energy flow and used here in combination with Swedish massage. The client will experience gentle rocking, and non-moving holding.

Craniosacral Therapy - a specialized type of massage that focuses on the spinal column, head and sacrum. It addresses the rhythm and subtle movement and pulsation during the production and absorption of cerebrospinal fluid.

Reiki - is a non-invasive, hands-on massage modality focusing on energy balance and healing. The massage therapist is the conduit through which the energy flows.
